Mini-Canvas Journals-Painted With Acrylic Paints. This technique is called reverse painting where you apply acrylic paint onto the canvas cover and add a light touch of water next to the paint for a watercolor effect that will feather, bleed and blend. To reverse paint, apply darker colors behind the lighter and make shapes such as the flowers and leaves.
